Images for the CO-OP end of an era party at the rainbow rooms are now online.
We most certainly can and it’s not science fiction either! Westgate P.A.S.T., a new community group set up recently aim to take us on a very special journey!
They will be charting the history of Newcastle’s weird and wonderful West End by collating pictures loaned to them, archived material, and the stories and tales of local people. Once put together, the recordings pictures, and archives will be included on what promises to be a fascinating web site.
Westgate PA.S.T. have recently received funding from Newcastle City Council as well as a sizeable slice of funding from English Heritage. This means they have been able to purchase the necessary equipment for the task as well provide accredited training for volunteers in sound and picture editing and interview techniques.
